In 1983 one of rocks' most influential and successful punk/funk bands formed in LA. The Red Hot Chili Peppers led by singer Anthon Kiedis with their talented bassist Flea are still going strong today. The group have endured their share of problems over the years, such as the death of Hillel Slovak the original guitarist. Drug addiction was a continuous hindrance to the band but nearly 30 years on they remain strong and an impressive live act. 'The Chilis' hit the big time with ‘BloodSugarSexMagik’ in 1991 with their unique combination of metal and rap, they instantly appealed to the Nirvana generation with their incorporation of Black Street Culture. Their hits range in style from the hip-hop driven lyrics of 'Give It Away' to the softer ballads such as "Under the Bridge". When Californication was released in 1999 the band hit a new level of popularity. 2006’s ‘Stadium Arcadium’ received strong critical acclaim.

After a 5 year hiatus they returned with their tenth studio album 'I’m With You' in 2011 and will be touring up until 2013 to promote the record.
