Nicole Scherzinger

Born in Hawaii in 1978, Nicole Scherzinger's professional career began in 2001, when she appeared in the US-version of the TV talent show, Popstars, winning a place in the manufactured band, Eden's Crush. The band had a few hit singles, before Scherzinger was asked to be the fourth member of The Black Eyed Peas, an offer she was forced to decline because of her contract with Eden's Crush. After a 'hellish' time touring and recording with Eden's Crush, the band eventually split, and Scherzinger recorded a few solo tracks before joining burlesque group, Pussycat Dolls, who were at the time undergoing an image change, from a risque stage act, to serious recording artists. Installed as the group's new lead singer, and with a successful first album, PCD (2005) under their belt, Scherzinger soon found herself a household name in the US, and got to work with other artists, including Diddy, Shaggy and Will Smith.

Her exposure led to talk about her launching a solo career, alongside her work with Pussycat Dolls, as well as touring with the group around the world in 2009. A planned solo album for 2007 was put back to 2008, before eventually being shelved, although the single, “Baby Love”, with will.i.am, did make it out as a single in 2007, reaching No.5 in Germany. In 2010, Scherzinger contributed to Slash's first solo album, as well as joining other stars for a re-release of “We Are The World” to raise money after the Haiti earthquake. Also in 2010, she confirmed that she'd been working with Swedish producer, RedOne, on her first releasable album, Killer Love. The first single from the album, “Poison”, was released in November 2010 and reached No.6 in the UK singles chart. “Don't Hold Your Breath” was the second single and reached No.1 in the UK, before the album's release, reaching No.8. The album was released in the US in January 2012.

Aside from music, Scherzinger has appeared as herself in episodes of Gossip Girl, and Big Time Rush, as well as a guest judge spot on The X Factor (UK) and as mentor on The X Factor (US). She won Dancing With The Stars in 2010, and has appeared in the films, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003), Be Cool (2005) and Men In Black III (2012).

In 2012, Scherzinger will embark on her Trust Me I Lie Tour of the UK and Europe, supported by former X Factor contestant, Cher Lloyd.
